We are thrilled to introduce the Tinsel Trot, a sparkling new community tradition that combines the magic of Christmas with the fun of a 5K and 1M walk/run. This merry event will take place on Saturday December 13, at 9:00 AM, right in front of the historic Texas Theatre.
The Tinsel Trot is the perfect opportunity for local businesses to come together, have fun, and make a difference! Companies can sponsor one, two, three, or even more teams—all running (or walking) for a great cause. Bring your employees out to the event, wear your company shirts, and show your community pride as your team represents your business along the course. Can’t make it on race day? No problem! You can still support the event by sponsoring teams and helping us reach our fundraising goals. It’s simple, meaningful, and a great way to engage your staff while giving back to McGregor. Every step and every sponsorship helps bring the Texas Theater back to life and ensures this historic treasure continues to shine in the heart of downtown.
We are encouraging businesses to form teams of five or more. Any team that raises $1,000 or more will have their team name printed on the back of their t-shirts—a walking showcase of generosity and Christmas cheer!
Participants will enjoy more than a brisk run or walk—they’ll take home commemorative shirts, cheerful goody bags filled with surprises, and the warm satisfaction of supporting something bigger than themselves. Even the littlest riders in strollers and our four-legged friends will be included, because at the Tinsel Trot, everyone belongs.
The Tinsel Trot will also sparkle with festive awards and recognitions: medals for runners by age group, trophies for the best holiday costumes, and plaques for top fundraising teams and sponsors. Every detail is designed to honor the joy, generosity, and spirit of Christmas.
